Contact

Questions, problems, and suggestions are welcome at appdavion@gmail.com.

To help us answer quickly, please include the App version (shown at the bottom of Settings in the App), your device model and iOS version, and what you were doing when the problem happened. A screenshot often helps.

02 / Purchases

IP Finder Pro

  • IP Finder Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It removes the daily limits and unlocks the Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets.
  • Restore a purchase: open the Pro tab (on iPad, Pro in the sidebar) and tap Restore purchase. Use the same Apple Account you bought Pro with. After Pro is active, the Pro tab is replaced by Activity.
  • Family Sharing is not available for IP Finder Pro.
  • Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

03 / Location

Why the location is not where I am

The App never uses your device’s GPS. The location it shows is approximate and based on the IP address: it is usually where your internet provider, mobile carrier, or VPN connects to the internet, which can be in another city or country.

If IPv6 shows Unavailable, the App could not confirm an IPv6 address on the current network. Many networks only provide IPv4.

04 / Widgets

Widgets

  • The widgets require IP Finder Pro. Without Pro they show a lock and do not check your IP.
  • To add one, touch and hold the Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit, then add the IP address widget from IP Finder. Touch and hold a placed widget and choose Edit Widget to pick IPv4 or IPv6, mask the address, or change what a tap does.
  • iOS decides how often widgets update. To update one right away, set its tap action to Refresh now, or open the App.

05 / Log

IP address log

  • The log records when your public IP address changes. It is stored only on your device.
  • Recording can be turned on or off with Record IP changes in the App’s Settings.
  • Changes are also checked in the background when iOS allows it. iOS decides when that happens; keep Background App Refresh on for IP Finder (iOS Settings › General › Background App Refresh).
  • Without IP Finder Pro, the log shows the last hour; with Pro, the full history.

06 / Ping

Live ping and the Local Network permission

iOS asks for the Local Network permission the first time you ping a device on your own network, such as your router. Without it, pings to local devices fail; pings to internet hosts still work. You can change it later in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.

Live ping runs only while the App is open on screen.

07 / DNS

DNS leak test

The test shows which DNS servers answer your device’s requests. If you use a VPN but see your internet provider’s DNS servers in the results, your DNS requests may be leaving the VPN. The App is not a VPN itself: it does not hide your IP address or change your DNS settings.

08 / Limits

Daily limits

Without IP Finder Pro, the App allows 5 IP lookups and 3 DNS leak tests per day. The count starts again at midnight on your device’s clock. Looking up an address the App has already looked up recently does not use a lookup.

09 / Privacy

Privacy

The App needs no account and contains no ads or tracking. Read the full Privacy Policy.
